We build web applications for businesses that need more than a website: a SaaS product at MVP stage, a customer portal, an internal dashboard, or a replacement for a WordPress site that has been stretched past what WordPress does well. The stack is React, Next.js, Laravel and Node.js, chosen per project rather than by habit.
MagniGeeks has been building software since 2014, and we run products of our own. RestroPress, an online ordering system with over 160,000 downloads, has its own Flutter app suite. MagniPOS is a point of sale for WooCommerce with native apps on four platforms and a web app. MagniConnect is a school communication app on Google Play and the App Store. Each one has a backend, an API and a front end that we designed, shipped and still maintain. That is the same work we do for clients.
Most of our clients arrive from WordPress, so this is the first question we answer. WordPress is the right tool more often than developers who build custom applications like to admit. These are the signs that you have outgrown it.
And when it still is: content sites, marketing sites, stores that fit the WooCommerce model, membership sites, and most internal tools with a handful of screens. WordPress gives you an admin, users, roles, media, an editor and a plugin ecosystem on day one. If your problem is mainly content plus a few custom workflows, a well-built plugin costs a fraction of a custom application and we would rather build you that. Our plugin development service covers it. When you are in between, headless is a real option: WordPress stays as the editing backend and a Next.js front end handles everything the theme layer could not.
Most enquiries fall into one of these. If yours does not, ask anyway. We will tell you quickly if it is not a fit.
A first version you can put in front of paying users: authentication, billing through Stripe, a multi-tenant data model, an admin, and the two or three features the product actually is. We cut scope hard at this stage, because every feature shipped before you have users is a guess.
A place your customers log in to see orders, invoices, documents, bookings or support tickets, pulled from the systems you already run. Often a Laravel or Next.js application talking to WooCommerce, an ERP or a CRM over their APIs. We have built an online membership platform for selling video and audio, and a continuing-education platform for healthcare professionals with courses, quizzes, progress tracking and certificates.
Operations screens, approval workflows, reporting over data that lives in three places, the spreadsheet that has become a liability. These pay for themselves in staff time, and we build them plainly, without the front-end weight a public product needs.
REST APIs with proper authentication, rate limiting and versioning, and integrations we have shipped before: Stripe including Connect, PayPal, Google APIs, Zapier, WhatsApp API, Firebase and OneSignal. The hard part is never the happy path. It is what happens when the other system is down, returns a malformed response, or sends the same record twice.
WordPress or WooCommerce stays as the content and commerce backend. A Next.js front end replaces the theme, rendered on the server for search engines and fast for visitors. We have built this both ways and will tell you when the extra moving parts are not worth it.
Features built on the OpenAI and Claude APIs: document extraction, drafting, classification, search over your own records, support assistants with access to your data. The interesting work is in the plumbing: prompt handling, cost control, and what the feature does when the model is wrong.
We choose per project. These are the defaults and the reasoning behind them. If you already run something else on this list, we will usually work in it.
| Layer | Default | When we use it |
|---|---|---|
| Front end | React with Next.js | Anything public that needs server rendering and search visibility, and any application with many interactive screens. Plain React without Next.js for internal tools behind a login. |
| Backend | Laravel, or Node.js | Laravel for most business applications. It has authentication, queues, scheduling and an ORM built in, and it is PHP, the same language as WordPress, which matters when the two share a team or a server. Node.js when the application is mostly real-time or the team wants one language end to end. |
| Database | MySQL | It is what we know deepest, it is what WordPress runs on, and it is enough for nearly every business application we are asked to build. |
| Mobile | Flutter or React Native | When the application needs a native companion. Same team, same backend. See mobile app development. |
| Content | WordPress | When editors need a real editing experience, we do not rebuild one. WordPress is the CMS, headless or not. |
The common thread is PHP and JavaScript, which our founder has been writing professionally since 2007. We do not take on stacks we cannot support for years, because the build is a small fraction of the life of an application.
Starting-from ranges for each kind of build are on the pricing page. If you have a brief, request a quote and a developer will reply within a working day.
Every project ends with the same set of deliverables, whether it is a four-week MVP or a six-month platform.
There is no honest single number, which is why we run a discovery phase on anything over $10,000 and price the build from a written specification. Two things drive cost more than anything else: the number of distinct screens and the number of external systems the application talks to. Send a brief with a budget range and we will tell you within a working day whether they fit.
Yes, after a paid code review. We read the codebase, tell you what state it is in and what it would cost to move forward, and you decide. Sometimes the answer is to keep what you have and fix the worst parts. Sometimes it is not.
Yes. A good share of the people who ask us for a custom application are better served by a plugin or a headless front end, and we say so, because we make our living from both and a WordPress build costs you less. Our WordPress development service covers that side.
You own it outright. We deploy to hosting in your name, usually a VPS or a managed platform you choose, and hand over every credential at the end. If we ever stop working together, nothing about the application changes.
Most of our clients are in the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe and Australia. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 18:00 IST, and we schedule calls around your day and keep written updates you can read whenever you start yours.

★★★★★
He was professional from the very first message, responded quickly at every stage, and took the time to really understand my situation before recommending anything. He explained technical decisions in plain language, never made me feel rushed or talked down to, and was genuinely understanding of my priorities and budget.

He didn't just identify issues, he explained what mattered, why it mattered, and what should be done next without trying to overcomplicate or oversell anything. I came away with a lot of confidence in both his knowledge and his approach. I've already decided to continue working with him on the next phases.

He helped update an old custom Genesis child theme to the latest version and ensure compatibility with PHP 8.4. Along the way, he discovered several other problems that he fixed at no cost. He exceeded my expectations in every way.
